Lord of the Rings Menu – The Seven Hobbit Meals
Lord of the Rings Menu – The Seven Hobbit Meals Happy Hobbit Day! To celebrate this day, I am sharing the Lord of the Rings Menu I made for a movie marathon that consisted of all seven Hobbit meals. It’s not a Lord of the Rings movie marathon (the extended versions) without an entire themed menu complete with all 7 hobbit meals. And since today is Hobbit Day (a name used for September 22 in reference to its being the birthday of the hobbits Bilbo and Frodo Baggins) I decided to share that menu for you all to enjoy! Everyone who has read the books and/or seen the movies is familiar with elven lembas bread and the mass quantities of ale consumed by the hobbits, what did their typical diet entail? For starters, there are 7 different meals: Breakfast – 7:30 a.m.Second Breakfast – 9:30 a.m.Elevenses – 11 a.m.Luncheon – 1 p.m.Afternoon Tea – 2:30 p.m.Dinner – 5:30 p.m.Supper – 9 p.m. But what to serve? Hobbits are big on the meat, potatoes, cheese, bread, pickled things, apples, berries, and tea. Oh and ales. Plenty of that was poured during the movie marathon as well. Let’s get down to the…

Man eats all the food in ‘Lord of the Rings’ in tribute to his late father Second breakfast. Elevenses. Luncheon. Afternoon tea. Dinner. Supper. It was all consumed by one dedicated Lord of the Rings fan, who created a themed 14-course menu that mirrors the food eaten by characters in Peter Jackson’s epic film trilogy — and it was all for a very important reason. UK writer Nate Crowley commemorated one year since his father passed away with a back-to-back marathon of all three films from The Lord of the Rings — paired with a 14-course menu reflecting exactly what was eaten on screen. Tweet may have been deleted (opens in a new tab) Teaming up with a friend for the marathon, Crowley posted images of every course, interpretations of everything from Elven lembas bread to Denethor’s “grim dinner.” Here’s the menu, and LOTR fans, prepare to be seriously impressed (and probably use this…
Feast of the Rings: Eat Your Way Through the Entire Trilogy
Feast of the Rings: Eat Your Way Through the Entire Trilogy This past weekend, my friends and I sat down to accomplish what we considered to be one of the nerdiest things we had ever done: marathon the Lord of the Rings trilogy (extended editions, of course) while eating all the foods from the series along with the characters. We can’t claim credit for the idea, as we were inspired by this Twitter thread. Here’s some ideas on how to hold your own food-filled Lord of the Rings marathon! Note: Not all food is featured in this list, but most of it has been included. The Fellowship of the Ring Our Victoria Sponge Cakes, which were a bright start to a day full of food in Middle Earth. 1. The movie starts off with cake, jam, and tea for breakfast. We chose to make Victoria Sponge Cakes, which have jam in them, to start off our day. To match the berry jam, we made ourselves cups of berry tea. 2. When Gandalf and Frodo meet about…

This man recreated all the meals in Lord of the Rings for a movie marathon to honour his late father The Lord of the Rings trilogy isn’t known for its culinary highlights, but when Nate Crowley sat down to watch the extended cuts of his favourite franchise, he decided to give it a fine dining twist. o honour the film that his father had loved, exactly a year after he died, science fiction author Nate from Walsall, and his girlfriend Ashleigh, created a 14-course meal reflecting the food eaten in the three films to accompany their movie marathon. His mother had died before Christmas, and the couple were going to be clearing out her house in Norfolk on the anniversary of his father’s death. “So we thought we would do a Lord of the Rings marathon as a sort of memorial,” Nate, 33, told the Press Association, “because both my parents really loved those films, and I used to watch them with them.” But you can’t go into an 11-and-a-half-hour movie marathon without a little preparation, so Nate pre-planned a menu. They started with some tea and cake, as the always-hungry hobbits scoffed it in the first film….

There and Snack Again: How to eat everything in Lord of the RingsIn February 2018, my wife & I decided to embark on a gruelling quest: to watch all three Lord of the Rings films (extended editions, of course), while attempting to eat everything that got eaten on screen. We were doing it in memory of my parents, who had both recently died, and who had loved both LOTR and good food. It blew up into a bit of a thing online, so we’ve decided to do it again this year (2019), starting at 6am on Saturday February 16th. And this time, we’re inviting you to watch – and eat – along with us. In this article, I’ll tell you all you need to know to follow in our footsteps: what to buy, how to prepare it, and when in the films to eat it. The Reason for the SeasonFirst, a bit of sentiment. As stated in the intro to this post,…

Son eats every food from Lord of The Rings trilogy in tribute to late father@regularfrog/ TWITTER’Looks like meat’s back on the menu, boys.’To honour his father’s memory, one man watched the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy and ate everything the characters eat on screen. Nate Crowley, a writer from the UK, tackled “lembas bread”, “stew and taters” and “Denethor’s grim dinner” in a 21-course meal over the epic day in front of the television. The writer and his partner started the trilogy at 6am in tribute to his late father, who was a lover of both Lord of the Rings and food. The menu included treats from orcs, elves, hobbits and even a carrot director Peter Jackson is seen eating in a cameo appearance. HOBBITON MOVIE SETThe menu started in Hobbiton, with tea and cake, but went to some dark places, both food and scene-wise.
