The film is based on the comedic amusement park ride in Disney’s amusement parks, but does that mean Jungle Cruise is a film made for the whole family too? We have everything you need to know about cursing, violence, and why Jungle Cruise earned its MPAA rating. Jungle Cruise follows two adventurers at-odds on a shared quest for an ancient tree. It’s much more intense than the Disney ride, of course, but the film is a whirlwind of fun adventure nonetheless. Is Jungle Cruise for kids, or is this boat ride an adults-only shindig? Is Jungle Cruise Kid Friendly? Parents Guide – Lola Lambchops

Is Jungle Cruise Kid Friendly? Parents Guide Wondering if Jungle Cruise is ok for kids? Jungle Cruise is rated PG-13 for action, adventure, and violence. Although it may be based off a Disney ride, Jungle Cruise can get dark, especially for young kids. Think Indiana Jones meets Pirates of the Caribbean. Here’s what parents need to know in this Jungle Cruise Parents Guide. While the film is inspired by the famous Disneyland theme park ride, Disney’s Jungle Cruise offers a lot more than nostalgia from the attraction. This adventure takes the audience on a thrill-ride down the Amazon with punny Jungle Cruise skipper Frank Wolff (Dwayne Johnson) and intrepid researcher and botanist Dr. Lily Houghton (Emily Blunt). Nobody will take Lily seriously as a scientist since she’s a woman, so she steals (we’ll say borrows) an artifact from London and travels to the Amazon jungle on a quest to uncover an ancient tree, Tears of the Moon, rumored to have incredible healing abilities….

‘Jungle Cruise’ Was Given a PG-13 Rating For These Two Main ReasonsIf there’s one studio that can take an idea that doesn’t seem like it would be the basis of a major motion picture, it’s got to be Disney. Take Pirates of the Caribbean, which decided to turn a theme park ride into a sprawling epic flick about buccaneers in what is now the Virgin Islands and ended up becoming a bonafide cinematic institution. While Johnny Depp had a lot to do with that (he signed on before even reading a script), it’s no wonder that the Mouse was looking to strike magic again.Article continues below advertisementWhich brings us to Jungle Cruise, another theme-park-inspired Disney property headlined by Hollywood’s highest-paid actor, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and Emily Blunt, a bonafide screen powerhouse who has demonstrated a range for a variety of genres. The movie generated a lot of buzz, especially with the changes made to the ride for updated cultural sensitivity and also because…

Jungle Cruise Movie Review | Common Sense Media

Jungle Cruise Movie Review A Lot or a Little? The parents’ guide to what’s in this movie. What Parents Need to Know Parents need to know that Jungle Cruise is an action-fantasy adventure inspired by the classic Disneyland ride. Set in 1916, it follows intrepid Dr. Lily Houghton (Emily Blunt), who hires skipper Frank Wolff (Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson) to guide her and her brother down the Amazon River in search of a mythical healing tree. Violence and peril are the biggest issues: Expect frequent danger, creepy cursed villains (as well as a cartoonishly evil German baddie), weapons (guns, torpedoes, swords, knives), an implied significant death (and some actual less significant ones), threatening snakes, and a jaguar that looks more vicious than she actually is. Adult characters drink from flasks and bottles, and an animal gets tipsy. One conversation about removing a knife from someone’s body could be perceived as suggestive (though the double meaning will likely go over kids’ heads), and there’s some flirty banter and a…

Parent reviews for Jungle Cruise | Common Sense Media

Parent reviews for Jungle Cruise August 13, 2022 Turn it off about an hour in… Wow, what a mess. Not even sure where to begin with this one. It starts off fine, like an Indiana Jones knock-off, but then it just becomes weird and overly complicated. My kids checked out before the end, they were just bored to tears. The first half was genuinely funny but the second half doesn’t have one laugh. It’s really mystifying, almost like the 2 halves were made by completely different people. About halfway through, one character comes out as gay for seemingly no reason, there’s a snake-man, a bee-man, a tree-man and, I think, a mud-man for no other reason than to be more like one of the Pirates movies, Emily Blunt’s heavily caked makeup is distracting in every scene, and the special effects are downright awful with not one genuinely believable animal (all of the animals are CGI). The only objectionable stuff is some innuendo which wasn’t funny at all and kind of cringe. My kids ended up hating it and so did I. 2 people found this helpful.
